There are certain things, like spiking the football, that you just don’t do on fourth down. You would think that of all people, Joe Montana’s son—Tulane quarterback Nick Montana—would know that.
With his team out of timeouts and the clock winding down near the end of the first half of Tulane’s game against Central Florida on Saturday, the senior quarterback spiked the football. However, the spike came on fourth down, which meant that the Green Wave had turned the ball over on downs.
