There’s a real split between the social conservative and the fiscal conservative wings of the movement on the casino issue.

WFA president Julaine Appling said the organization is pleased the Menominee Nation’s application to build a casino complex in Kenosha could be denied because of its projected financial impact on the state’s budget.

“We are, however, disappointed that Gov. Walker appears to have abandoned his promise to Wisconsin voters not to approve a new casino if it would expand gambling in Wisconsin and has, in general, set aside the criteria he adamantly supported just a year ago,” Appling said in the release.
