The punishment seems about right to me.
(CNN)The NFL has suspended New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady for four games without pay in relation to the “Deflategate” incident in which the team was found to have used underinflated footballs for an advantage in the playoffs.
The team has been fined $1 million and will forfeit its first-round selection in the 2016 NFL Draft and fourth-round pick in the 2017 draft, the league announced Monday.
Dollars to doughnuts (or whatever is the breakfast pastry of choice in your little slice of Cheesehead land) the appeals and back ‘n’ forth will cost Brady more than the 4 game checks he’d be losing and will likely still lose after the lawyers are done.
Once that’s done, the NFLPA will get involved and drag it out even longer. Mark my words, but Brady doesn’t serve his 4 games in 2015. It’ll take until the 2016 season for all of the crap to settle out.
