Paltrow and Jolie made their allegations in a New York Times article published Tuesday.A representative for Paltrow confirmed the account she shared with the Times to CNN.Paltrow said she was 22 years old when Weinstein hired her to play the lead in his adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel “Emma.”
Paltrow is 45 years old. That means that for 23 years, Weinstein allegedly continued to victimize other women – many of whom never reached the wealth and fame as Paltrow – as she sat silent. Meanwhile, Paltrow enjoyed her fame, wealth, and lectured the rest of us about women’s rights. The same is true for Jolie and so many others. I get that Paltrow may have been fearful to say anything when she was an unknown trying to make her way, but what was her excuse for the last decade when she was an established A-list celebrity? Where was she when she could have used her platform to protect other women – not from the general “patriarchy,” but from a man that she knew to be a predator?

Forgive me if I scoff at their denunciations at this late date when their silence enabled Weinstein to victimize so many others.
Nope. You don’t get to victim shame. We have seen this in dozens of cases, when one comes forward many usually follow suit. Who knows why she didn’t come forward.
Maybe because when she does after becoming famous people jump all over her for using him to get famous and then coming forward. Maybe because he was ultra powerful in Hollywood which is a traditional “boys club” and she feared not working again. Maybe she was ashamed for some reason?
There is plenty of complicit people who either directly knew or turned a blind eye or were paid off.
Thank goodness the “liberal” media finally got something concrete and someone was able to come forward and do something about it.

Yes, I would love to know her reasoning behind why she never came forward, just as I would like to know why many of them never came forward. The article said that Angelina Jolie warned women who she knew worked with him, but never came publicly forward. We see there is power and confidence in numbers.
Why do they never come forward, probably because at the time Harvey had all the wealth and power. He could kill a career for a new starlette. There was little to no evidence other than a “he said – she said”. And apparently money makes a LOT of problems just go away.
Don’t let your conservative hate for these mostly liberal stars cloud your judgement on this. This isn’t a left/right problem. This is a rich & powerful man problem. Because once SOME men get into power, they feel they can get away with anything. We saw it with former president Clinton, and I am gonna go out on a VERY SHORT limb and say that some of the charges that were lobbied towards are current president were not lies. Both of those women had an inside route to Hollywood, that didn’t guarantee their success. Plenty of celeb kids have failed to break into Hollywood and failed. But at the time they were unknown actresses.

Weinstein was a very powerful man with very powerful friends in the industry. I am glad he is getting whatever comes his way.
The problem is, you probably only get ONE shot at him. If you succeed, you take him down. If you fail, your career is virtually over. It is probably easier to just ignore the problem and hope it goes away or someone else deals with it.

One of the advantages of our technology is that evidence is becoming way easier to obtain. No longer is it just someone’s word against another. While those of us in touch with reality can view both sides of an argument, many times even separating the fake or biased information from what is true, I would advise here let the lady have the last word and chuckle at her expense. Reality will never get through the hatred.

However, Conservatives are more quick to denounce pervs than the left because most conservatives consider perversion to be reprehensible.
Liberals have to be dragged kicking and screamingto denounce perversion, like Clinton and Weinstein, because secretly, they desire perversion as being just dandy.
In addition, when conservatives take moral stands, against perversion, there is a litany from the left “who are you to judge?”. that liberal plattitude allows outward evil to flourish.
That is my point.

Most folks I speak with attribute Trumps’ past problems to the liberal media as much as Trump himself. Considering the lefts’ pass for our beloved ex-President Clinton, one can certainly see a corollary.
Admittedly, I have observed a certain amount of glee on the part of some. After literally years of hearing these overpaid snobs lecturing us peasants, watching one of the elites actually getting skewered does come with some satisfaction.

The fact that the NYT buried the Weinstein story in 2004 should be proof enough that something is fundamentally wrong with our main stream media and the liberal culture it supports in general.

I’ve been saying all along that the acceptance culture of the left and right is rotten to the core! The acceptance of the right is demonstrated daily on television, radio, and online blogs, by rationalizing the perverse behavior by Trump. I’ve been listening this morning to Dan O’Donald try and make cover for Trump by smearing women who made allocations against Trump. This is the exact same tactic that some on the left took with the allocations against Clinton all those many years ago. Luckily he was impeached and disgraced. Hopefully the same fate awaits Trump.

The real point is the leftist main stream media that buries stories about their heroes while attacking when they think they will damage their perceived enemies.
