Technology supplier Foxconn denied reports Tuesday that it is considering staffing its planned Wisconsin facility with Chinese workers due to the tight labor market in the state.
“We can categorically state that the assertion that we are recruiting Chinese personnel to staff our Wisconsin project is untrue,” Foxconn, which is based in Taiwan, told The Wall Street Journal in a statement.
Sources familiar with the matter had told the Journal that Foxconn may bring in personnel from China to staff the facility, given the tight American labor market.
Particularly, the source said, Foxconn Chairman Terry Ghou is searching out company engineers that would be willing to move to Wisconsin.
Ghou is reportedly struggling to find employees who would relocate so far away and is frustrated by it.
We have a labor shortage in Wisconsin. The best way to fix that is to recruit people from other states and countries to move to Wisconsin to fill those jobs, thus creating more Wisconsinites who live, work, and play in our state. It is a good thing if people want to move here – not a bad thing.
Rumor has it that there are a few thousand people coming from the south that are searching for the American dream. If history is any predictor, immigrants will help make America great again.

Nobody is against legal immigration.
We are against unchecked, unvetted human traffickers, criminals, and unproductive coming in.
Jumping the line by thuggish over the border, rather than at a legal port of entry cannot be tolerated.

I don’t know any conservatives who are at “war with potential immigrants.” We generally don’t like illegal immigrants (except for some of the Chamber of Commerce crowd who turn a blind eye), but we’re all for immigrants. I welcome our future Chinese-Wisconsinites.
No one endorses illegal immigration, or open boards. America welcomes immigrants.

If the USA is indeed a ‘propositional’ country (see the Declaration) then people who are here merely to staff positions in some factory are not going to become “Wisconsinites.”
Either one immigrates because one seeks to live in the US for its form of government and its promise of life, liberty, pursuit of happiness under the laws of Nature and Nature’s God…..or one is merely here as a feeder at the trough (whether ‘earning’ or not.)

Wouldn’t a free market approach also remind us that if employers improved the appeal of their offer in the form of wages, benefits, and working conditions, they’d attract workers from any other part of the country?
