Yuck.
The documentary maker who invoked Karl Marx during her Oscars acceptance speech by saying ‘workers of the world unite’ was previously nominated for an Academy Award for a film about communism.
Julia Reichert, who is battling terminal cancer, took to the Dolby Theater stage in Hollywood on Sunday to accept the award for Best Documentary for American Factory, which is the first film to be released by Barack and Michelle Obama’s new production company Higher Ground.
Her speech was among the many political statements of the evening.
‘Our film is from Ohio and China. ‘But it really could be from anywhere that people put on a uniform, punch a clock, trying to make their families have a better life.

American Factory was produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s new venture, Higher Ground.
The former president congratulated the filmmakers on Twitter after their win on Sunday night.
Pretty much all you needed to know.
Awful people ignoring the worst human rights disasters ever…courtesy of disgusting leftist ideology.

Oh, so radical. Workers can’t unite, what are they thinking? You shouldn’t even talk to each other about work. Can’t know what someone else is making, can’t talk about working conditions. You should be glad to have a job at all!
Jjf,
When that happens, “workers unite”, they elect an indiot like Chavez and now dictator Maduro that refuse to give up power. In U.s. the sewer equivalent would be Sanders, Pocahontas, or Mayor Pete.
They are earing cats and dogs to stay alive in Venezuela. No apologies from the workers for the evil they created with their failed ideology.
If you don’t like being a worker for someone else, start your own business! Most don’t do that because it requires time, dedication, savings, investment, etc. Many just want to party, spend, and waste time on weekend than take time to reflect and plan. Choices make America great, not you ignoring thr gross evil of leftist ideolofmgy.
Yeah, I’ve been self-employed for the vast majority of my working life. Works fine for me.
Jjf,
Thats great.
If you want to be a communist, practice with your wealth first.
I wonder, where in the US the workers have it harder?
Let’s all get excited about one phrase at an awards show, without having watched the documentary in question.
Let’s worry about Karl Marx, but let’s not worry about actual Russians actually doing things in actual USA with the actual President.
Let’s not worry about the Democrats nominating an actual communist.
I think what you’re saying is that Putin would like that almost as much as having Trump as his buddy.
You think Bernie’s going to snap his fingers and everyone else will get in line? That he’ll suddenly have the power to declare whatever he wants via executive power? What, you’re saying you don’t want a President to have those powers?
As long as there’s a DNC Bernie ain’t getting the nomination unless he has secretly leased the DNC like Hillary’s ’16 campaign did. Despite the recent cosmetic reforms the Dem’s superdelegates are still controlled by the party beyond the convention’s first ballot. So unless Bernie can absolutely run away with the primary delegate count a brokered convention is not going to break Bernie’s way. Somebody will get the nomination in the same manner Barak Obama did. And just like Hillary in ’08 there won’t be a damned thing Bernie can do about it… again.
>You think Bernie’s going to snap his fingers and everyone else will get in line? That he’ll suddenly have the power to declare whatever he wants via executive power?
Isn’t that exactly what Schiff said an acquittal of Trump would do? EXACTLY what he warned us about?
Milwaukee is going to burn if Bernie is denied nomination by superdelegates.
…and we have to have this dysfunctional bleep show on our doorstep.
Consider it an exercise in empathy, Kevin.
jjf,
Not when the Party standard bearer spews forth a sick, evil, ideology that killed over 100 million last century. You have empathy for a horrible ideology? I’d rather defeat and destroy horrible ideology.
http://www.victimsofcommunism.org
I didn’t suggest you need to even try to understand someone else’s ideology.
How about trying to imagine what it would be like to have a “dysfunctional bleep show on your doorstep.” You know, like most people feel about Trump now, or how half of Wisconsin felt about Walker, or still feels about Vos and Fitz.
Wow. You want understanding of an inherently violent ideology that has killed time and time again?
