Abortions increased 7% in 2018 over 2017, the report said. There were 6,042 abortions in Wisconsin in 2018, up from 5,640 the year before. That’s nearly double the rate of increase between 2016 and 2017 when abortions went up 3.7%.
The report does not attempt to explain the increase which came despite no loosening of state laws related to abortions. Abortions had dropped steadily from 2009 until 2017.

While abortion is a sad event, the number is significantly down from 1979 when the number of abortions was over 20,000.
One wonders if the great economy had something to do with the increase in abortions, especially among single white women between the ages of 20-24, whose group had the most abortions? But the same might be true among minorities in the same age group.
Abortion is only a sad event if you care about life.

Apparently there are a lot of youth who do not/will not get married. Whether that’s because they have no serious interest in their “partner” or whether that’s because they haven’t the courage to commit……who knows?
