Local Businesses Pushing for Oppressive Government

Hats off to Mark Belling for calling out the restaurants and businesses in Milwaukee who are advocating for the city to force everyone to wear a mask. These businesses are pushing for government to shove us around.

No thanks.

I rarely spend time in the City of Milwaukee anymore anyway, but many of these businesses have properties in areas I do frequent. I’ll spend my money with people who aren’t using their clout to push for larger and more oppressive government.

That is a great way to do it.  However I have noticed that Republicans tend to freak out when others do that via boycotts and such.

    No Randall, I haven’t.

    Bunch of jerks!

If you want require masks on premise, then do it!

Stop making your neighbor do it!

I will also make it a policy not to stop at these big government advocating/ policy oppressive restaurants either.

This is about owners being cowards.   They don’t want responsibility for mask decision to be on them, they want cover of politicians to do it.   When a customer refuses to wear a mask, they have to stand firm if it is their decision.    They want the easy way out by saying “government makes us, out of my hands.”

    That is just total cowardice.

Good to hear Jason.  Consistency is key.  I have no doubt you are.

Where can I go to eat a Dilly Bar while not wearing pants?  Isn’t there some freedom-loving pants-free DQ around here?  Are there no brave DQ owners who will take a stand on not being required by the government to wear pants?

    Cowards!!!

Btw, the answer is:  At home.

I’m trying to Follow The Logic here.  The government can say I need to wear pants or I’ll get charged with one thing or another, out of Natural Law regarding the Proper Nature of my manly bits, but they can’t say I need to wear a mask for health reasons because that’s out of line with Freedom?

  8. Kevin Scheunemann

    jjf,

If you got shorts on, you don’t need pants….

    >Good to hear Jason.

Got some examples?  I’m confident (and consistent) that whatever you bring up, I’ve heard of, and it’s not some “conservative hypocrisy freakout”.  I’m extremely confident that it’s your bias or ignorance that’s causing the difference of opinion between us.

……indecent exposure leading to fatal laughing-fit, killing three.  So add manslaughter….

Eight days without Mayor Tom issuing the desired edict. That’s a lot of pondering.

The director of this business org was demanded to resign and he did.

However, what are these businesses doing belonging to an awful lefty org?

That is still on business owners.

    >Got some examples?

No Examples Randy Flunk?  You went on a posting spree and forgot this one.  I feel so lonely, when I’m right.

  14. Randall Flagg

    Jason:

You must think everyone constantly stays on here if you freak out after not seeing an example for 8 hours.

  15. Randall Flagg

    Jason:

We don’t have a difference of opinion.  At least I don’t think we do.  My opinion is:

*People deciding where to shop (including boycotts) are OK, no matter the reason behind them.

*Both the right and the left call for boycotts

*It makes no difference whether the boycott is organized by the right, left, or any other group.

    Do you agree with these?

Also, note I didn’t say ‘conservative’ freakout.  I said ‘Republican’.  The words are not synonymous.  If you are going to ask for examples, at least ask for ones based on what I posted.

  16. Jason

*Both the right and the left call for boycotts

If all that is true and all you wanted to say, why mention “Republicans tend to  freakout” at all?  I said I haven’t noticed that, you obviously think you have.  Hence the difference of opinion.

  17. jjf

Randall, it’s clear that the Republicans here never freak out.  They don’t freak out about about evolution, wokester culture, abortion, protesters, Biden, Obama, Clinton, the time of day, or beards.

And still, jjf has not come up with a cohesive statement.
Still must be frustrated how a data base works.

The irony I see here is that many of the people ‘most in danger’ from CV19 are actually hurt by wearing a mask.  My wife and I went to IKEA for the first time last weekend and they require masks.  My wife has manageable asthma, but could not breathe more than a few minutes before she started having more and more trouble breathing.  She felt horrible the rest of that day and only marginally less bad the next day.  The sound of her breathing was heartbreaking.  Many of the elderly have different types of breathing problems and they are worse off.

Yes, the answer is to never go out, you don’t have to comment on that.  We went there for a desk because she had to quit her old job and try to get a 100% remote job.  Now she never has to leave…it sucks sometimes.

  20. Kevin Scheunemann

    Pat,

    Would Satan where a mask?

(If you do not know, I am certain we have some godless contributors on this group that would know based on their close personal relationship.)

  21. Pat

    Kevin,

I doubt satan would wear a mask and more than likely would be dismissing the virus as nothing more than a cold or the flu.

  22. Kevin Scheunemann

    Pat,

Thought for sure you would say he WOULD wear a mask and talk about how awful the virus is to worm his way into your sphere.

  23. Pat

    Kevin,

    Why would you think that??

  24. Kevin Scheunemann

    Pat,

You view Satan from a perspective of conveying truth.

I view Satan as constantly conveying lies.   So he would say he would wear a mask, and then not do it.

Just shows how cozy you 2 are.

  25. Randall Flagg

Tom Waits — ‘There ain’t no devil, only God when he’s drunk.’

  26. Pat

“You view Satan from a perspective of conveying truth.”

Where on earth did you get that from.
    Awful, just awful.

  27. Kevin Scheunemann

    Pat,

Then you were conveying a lie in your proposed Satan response?

Then we agree that Satan would say he would wear a mask and then not do it.

    What is the problem?

  28. Randall Flagg

According to religious people like Kevin, God created everything.

Following that logic God created Satan.

Thus God created Evil. And allows it to continue today.

Ironically, the Bible says Satan is good.  (1 Timothy 4:4)

  29. Randall Flagg

Could it be ... Satan? Not in the news coverage | Saturday night ...

  30. Kevin Scheunemann

     Randall,

    1st Timothy 4:4

4 “For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving”.

I’ll bite.   How does godlessness derive “Satan is good” from that passage?
