Court Ruling Saves Federal Taxpayers $50 Million per Month

With the economy rebounding and the unemployment rate at less than 4%, do we really still need the “extra” money for FoodShare? Shouldn’t people be working and buying their food at pre-pandemic levels?

Officials say last week’s Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling striking down Gov. Tony Evers’ COVID-19 emergency order means that next month the state will begin losing more than $50 million per month in emergency supplemental FoodShare benefits.

The state Department of Health Services says if the Supreme Court would have allowed the governor’s emergency order and mask mandate to last for one more full day, into April, FoodShare members would have been covered through the month of May.

Wisconsin is getting $3,200,000,000 from the stimulus bill.
Evers can take the money from there as it is about 1.5% of the stimulus money. Chump change.

And if they had waited another day (remember, they waited 55 days after Ev…er…Gau ignored the Legislature and issued the 6th “60-day emergency”/5th mask-forever mandate, which came after they the issuance of the 4th and 5th “60-day emergencies”), DHS would be bitching that they wouldn’t be able to hand out $50 million in June as part of the 7th “60-day emergency”/6th mask-forever mandate.

Related, for those worried that Bid…er…Harris will impose a national mask mandate, you’re a few months late as we already do have a national mask mandate…imposed last year.

Where’s the edit button? That should read, “…which came after they ignored the issuance of the 4th and 5th ’60-day emergencies’…”.

Locally, the complaints come from a food bank. Without State “grants” that food bank will close its doors and the woman screeching about this will lose her ~$150K job.

Evers/Gau vetoed a Pubbie bill which would have extended the “emergency order” WITHOUT a mask mandate. Imagine that!

That’s news to.me here in Arizona where, in our county, we haven’t had a mask mandate for months and have been open for months as well.

Is Wisconsin or for that matter, any other state in a true emergency now?

Every single state in the union is in a true and dire emergency… right now. The Shitbag Party is in charge of both houses of the Legislature and also the Executive Branch at the Federal Level.

Maybe New York and Michigan, but because they’re wholly-run by Lockdown-Forever Rats, not a peep from their presstitute organs.
