This should scare the hell out of everyone in the middle class and everyone who aspires to be in it. “Government support” is not a pathway to prosperity. It is, however, a pathway to dependency and control.
If the Biden administration gets its way, the reconstructed middle class would be built on a sturdier and much broader plank of government support rather than the vagaries of the market.
Never mind that Government has been the single greatest force behind causing the vulnerabilities the middle class feels. Shake ’em up and pour them into the Government trough.
Allow me to rewrite the money quote:
Awful. Just awful.
Nord cheers.
The nine most terrifying words in the English language are….
Anyone notice what was missing in that blame-everything-else fest of an article? The clue is here, albeit in a 180dg fashion:
“The unregulated economy is not working for most Americans,” said Joseph Stiglitz, a Nobel laureate in economics. “The government has an important role,” he emphasized, in regulating the private sector’s excesses, redistributing income and making substantial public investments.”
Yes, the “unregulated economy” is the cause of the fall of the middle class. All the additional piles and piles of g’vment – federal, state, local – regulations/rules/requirements heaped on bizness and individuals since post WWIi has nothing to do with it, of course.
Just g’vment trying to help.
Y’all get your personal letter in the mail from Senile Joe , telling me about the 3rd stimulus payment?
Remember the fake crocodile tears the liberals cried about having his name on the check?
I figure that if everyone got a payment, with the cost of mailing, supplies and labor, that letter cost about $100,000,000.
And since the letter came in an IRS envelope, I wonder how many people freaked they were in trouble with the IRS? Not the greatest marketing move.
But I’m sure there will be liberals think the letter was special for them and they’ll frame it.
