Is it the corruption, massive decrease in public interest (as indicated by ratings), or the fact that it’s run by an insular, possibly racist and sexist, group of people? What does it say about all of the Hollywood folks who pandered and supported this group until very recently?
The HFPA has been under fire since the Los Angeles Times revealed allegations of corruption and impropriety as well as a lack of any black members.
“We continue to believe that the HFPA is committed to meaningful reform,” a statement from the network read. “However, change of this magnitude takes time and work, and we feel strongly that the HFPA needs time to do it right. As such, NBC will not air the 2022 Golden Globes. Assuming the organization executes on its plan, we are hopeful we will be in a position to air the show in January 2023.”
The network has shown the Golden Globes since 1996, paying about $60m a year for rights. The most recent ceremony, which saw Nomadland win big, saw a 60% drop in viewers.
The last week has seen studios, publicists and stars continue to distance themselves from the HFPA. Netflix, WarnerMedia and Scarlett Johansson have all urged the industry to take action. “Unless there is necessary fundamental reform within the organization, I believe it is time that we take a step back from the HFPA,” Johansson said.
They still don’t get it. They are losing viewers, not because they are not woke enough, that’s always been the case in Hollywood.
People are tired of all the BS political crap that these celebrities think we need to hear.
Most people don’t want to hear it and now the viewing decided not to watch these shows anymore.

They are going after her because she is concentrating just on President Trump and nothing else and she critizes other GOP members. She probably won’t even win reelection in Wyoming next year. Plus she is a carpetbagger.
That’s not a leader of a political party.
I might add, and Le Roi probably didn’t hear about because at the institution he resides just gives him filtered news, some GOP tried to rid of Cheney after the 2nd impeachment vote and she kept her position.
But Le Roi is so uneducated, he didn’t know that.
