I give credit to the House Republican leadership for taking this to a vote. Shame on the anti-American swamp critters who failed to do their duty.
House Republicans failed to impeach Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas for his mishandling of the southern border crisis in a nail-biting vote that came down to the wire and sparked chaos on the floor.
The 214-216 vote marked the second of three major legislative failures of the day for House Republicans who remain deeply divided across the House and Senate.
You can thank US Rep and former Marine Mike Gallagher (R) from Green Bay.
Gallagher made the Cartels very happy.
Did they make HIM very happy??
Or did his vote reflect the donations from the mega-dairy farmers who depend on illegals (with or without tuberculosis)?
Whatever the influence, it certainly was NOT patriotism. But you can rest assured he’ll wear his USMC gear 24X7 so he can pretend to be honorable.
“Creating a new, lower standard for impeachment, one without any clear limiting principle, won’t secure the border or hold Mr. Biden accountable,” Gallagher, R-Green Bay, said in a statement before Tuesday’s vote. “It would only pry open the Pandora’s box of perpetual impeachment.”
In a practical sense Gallagher is probably correct. Even had the house republicans succeeded in impeaching Mayorkas, Schumer would not have allowed any senate action… especially after McConnell screwed the pooch on the betrayal border bill. Reality is that an impeachment would not have altered executive branch policy on illegal immigration a bit. It would have been nothing more than another hollow, warm fuzzies win that too many DC Republicans have grown very comfortable with. While I understand that results require effort, I’m way beyond tired of their efforts that never intend to achieve results. Watching DC Republicans shadowbox just isn’t all that impressive anymore.
