In case there was any doubt that No Labels is just a front group designed to help prevent Republicans from getting elected, I give you exhibit 1.
No Labels may finally have a candidate in consideration for its third-party “unity ticket” in the 2024 presidential election.
Sources familiar with the group’s efforts to field a third-party ticket tell ABC News that No Labels representatives have had meetings with former Georgia GOP Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan about running as the group’s presidential candidate.
Duncan wouldn’t comment on this report, but isn’t shutting down speculation.
There is absolutely no way that No Labels is going to put up a candidate that is more likely to draw Dem votes than GOP votes.
No Labels, the organization I founded eight years ago and have led as a volunteer ever since, was born after the 2010 “Tea Party” midterms, an election in which far-right conservatives prevailed by promising to do everything in their power to stand in President Obama’s way. “ – Nancy Jacobson, founder, president, CEO, and former DNC, DLC finance chair, fundraiser for Gary Hart, Al Gore, Evan Bayh, DEC 7, 2018.
The 501c org is skirting campaign finance laws by claiming it is not a political party, yet it is scheming to name and fund a presidential candidate under their name. As a 501c they do not have to disclose donors.
“Fraud” is a polite term.
Yah, well, it’s a flea biting the butt of an elephant. They’ve raised $21 million. Biden will spend twice that in Wisconsin alone.
Not that they can’t get more, but the LootGov of Georgia? REALLY??
That 21 mill was raised in 2022 and it applies only to the No Labels base org, not to their affiliated PACs and Super PACs: No Labels Problem Solvers PAC, No Labels Action PAC, United Together, Forward Not Back, Citizens for a Strong America, Govern Or Go Home, United for Progress.
Nor does it apply to secondary PACs, such as the recently announced New Leaders 2024….
Officials on Wednesday announced the creation of a super political action committee (PAC) in support of a potential third-party “unity ticket” organized by No Labels.
The group, New Leaders 2024, is being led by two Republican strategists and one Democratic strategist.
The group will be led by Kathleen Shanahan, who previously served as chief of staff to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) and worked as an aide to former President George W. Bush and former Vice President Dick Cheney.
Andrew Fishman, president of Schonfeld Strategic Advisors and a Democrat, will serve as the super PAC’s treasurer.
And GOP strategist Rob Stutzman, who previously worked for former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R), will advise the super PAC.
The New York Times reported the group has $2 million in initial commitments but expects to raise up to $300 million if No Labels puts forward a viable ticket. – The Hill, 01/10/24
21 mill here, 21 mill there. Eventually you are talking real money.
It’s hilarious how many Dems claim this will hurt Babblin’ Joe (see: Pelosi). Yet, as Owen correctly concluded, these are all-out Never Trumpers.
Even No Labels itself stated it would not seek a third party candidate if Biden led the polls after Super Tuesday.
He doesn’t. They will.
