Biden (Joe/Jill/Hunter) Drops Out of Race

I woke up from a delightful Sunday afternoon nap to this news. Imagine Biden’s surprise when he gets up from his!

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden wrote in a letter posted to his X account.

– It is telling that he did not share this news with the American people in person through a press conference or public address. Doing it in a letter is unmanly and cowardly.
– He had no choice but to support Harris. Internal Democratic dynamics would allow nothing else. She will have to defend Biden’s terrible record. She is a uniquely unlikeable person, so expect every retort to her to be characterized as racist and sexist. It’s the only arrow they have in the quiver.
– Speaking of Harris, it is telling that the other Democratic contenders have not yet challenged her. That seems to say that they know it is a lost cause and are willing to wait for 2028.
– President Biden should step down immediately. His presidency is no longer tenable. If he is too feeble to be a candidate for president, then he is too feeble to BE president. If he refuses, then the Republicans should move to remove him from office through impeachment – the only tool available to them. Is it politically smart? Probably not, but our nation deserves a president with a fully functioning brain and to have Hunter as far away from the nuclear codes as possible.
– Speaking of Hunter, he will be pardoned.
–  Biden’s political career is dying as it lived – in lies and failure. May our nation be able to recover from the damage he has wrought.

Nowhere other than right wing talking points say he is too feeble. He made a choice stating he believes it is in the best interest in the party. I don’t think he would have lasted another 4 years, but I have no qualms about his next 6 months. He isn’t the guy he was 4 years ago, that is certain. But you never know when age will strike… could happen to Trump too in the next 4 years?!?

Kamala needs to clear house of the Biden Campaign staff, they have done a crap job. Run on the accomplishments, tell the people you will keep working on inflation. Focus on states that are restricting abortion and point and scream loudly.

Kamala is most likely being sacrificed to an election the internal polls say will be difficult to win. And if she wins, bonus. If not, they will say SEE YA!

I didn’t honestly think Joe would step aside. Good for him.

Jason. I am good with it. Frustration leads to passion. This was before the announcement, it is a new game now. Let’s see how it plays out.

    >I am good with it.

    Even better! Haha

For the first time in recorded history, the Hildebeeste doesn’t want to be President.

As to feeble-minded Sponge-Brain-Shits-Pants: the ONLY good he thinks of is his. Not the nation, not the Party. He’ll pick up his check at the exit door along with a fist-ful of pardons. Thankyouverymch!

Dad29, 100% Hilary thought about it. Shit, Jimmy Carter probably thought about it. But they don’t want to be put behind the 8-ball in a shortened election cycle.

Exactly. Thank you for making my point. Running = losing this year.

    >Nowhere other than right wing talking points say he is too feeble.
Really? Would you characterize him as robust, or healthy…for his age? The last 2 times I watched him live on TV, feeble was a pretty accurate term. I think of myself as conservative, but never as right wing.

    >I don’t think he would have lasted another 4 years, but I have no qualms about his next 6 months. He isn’t the guy he was 4 years ago, that is certain.
Now this I believe as a majority of liberals I know have admitted belief to the theory that Joe has not made many decisions in the last 2 years. His ‘team’ can handle it as well the last 6 months with or without anything he does or says. I would bet (odds are?) that he has less than 5 public appearances in the next 6 months, at least where he does more than sit in his seat, smile and wave.
