What is a foreign leader to think?
Vice President Kamala Harris — who is seeking to succeed Biden — met with Netanyahu later in the day and took the lead in addressing the public about their discussions.
She has been more outspoken than Biden about killed Palestinian civilians and called on Israel to allow more humanitarian aid in, and later stressed the importance for Israel to avoid more civilian casualties in Gaza.
I ask the question sincerely. Now, Netanyahu is an old hand and knows the nuances of American politics very well. He’ll be fine. But it is extremely weird and unsettling for the President and the Vice President to meet separately for foreign heads of state and give different messages. How is a foreign leader to interpret that? Who is speaking for America? Who’s policy is in force?
It may seem obvious that it is the president’s, but is it? His brain is mush and he can’t effectively communicate. Biden clearly allowed his VP to meet separately. Is the foreign leader to interpret that as the meeting with the president was for show and the meeting with the VP was the real one? If Biden is already acting as the president in setting and leading America’s foreign policy, then was that power delegated from the president?
This is not normal. This is not right. We should not pretend that it is.
Every foreign leader knows that it is an election year. Good ones hedge their bets and get an understanding of what is, and what might come. Bibi is even meeting with Donald Trump who holds NO current office.
I don’t see anything abnormal about this. To think that the sitting lame duck president and the VP have the exact same perspective on the future would be silly.
-This is not normal. This is not right. We should not pretend that it is.
No disrespect intended, but where the hell have you been the last four years? Nothing has been normal, none of it has been right, and there’s been nothing but pretending going on.
Well Kommie chose to hang with a sorority rather than do her job as senate president and attend Netanyahu’s congressional speech, then fake-schmoozed him during their meeting and five minutes later shoved a scimitar in his back.
Class act.
Netanyahu‘s meet up with Trump was the only one of significance.
Meeting with Trump is worthless if he ain’t elected. Might as well meet up with GWB.
Might as well meet up with
GWBBidenFixed it for ya.
JV gurgles: Meeting with Trump is worthless if he ain’t elected
Perverted, clueless, and stupid is no way to go through life, son.
MjM. Wow, how inciteful. You probably stayed up half the night coming up with that comment. And then ran it thru ChatGPT to be sure.
Dad29, all political power is future power. And Biden’s future power is running out quickly. But, he still does have some.
>Every foreign leader knows that it is an election year. Good ones hedge their bets and get an understanding of what is, and what might come. Bibi is even meeting with Donald Trump who holds NO current office.
>Meeting with Trump is worthless if he ain’t elected. Might as well meet up with GWB.
Anyone else see the cognitive dissonance required to say those two comments right after each other? One might say that meeting with Harris if she is not elected or if she is not running the Government is also worthless. There are no Vice-Executive Orders. Hedge your bets, but only one bet matters?
Of course, one might also see that there really isn’t much purpose in foreign powers meeting with Democrats anymore. Every intelligent person knows that their agenda is set and there will be no negotiations that change them. No hedging even necessary there.
For some reason that I have not yet fathomed, Dems have hitched their support with the terrorists in that conflict. Whatever their actual reasons, that won’t change while they are in power.
Dem order of support:
1) HAMAS
2) Iran
3) Palestinians
…
3,872) Israel
T, were you hit in the head over the weekend, you normally are smarter than this. I am EXACTLY saying that meeting with Trump will be worthless if he isn’t elected. And meeting with Harris will be JUST AS USELESS, although at least Harris has a deciding vote in Congress if needed. Bibi is hedging his bets and getting a feeling of where the wind is blowing with both candidates.
And don’t give me that BS that any Dems support HAMAS. They support the people of Palestine. Much like Ukraine, it is a “war” that has no hard end goal. But Israel’s government seems to justify any civilian level of casualty in the name of eliminating HAMAS. And how exactly will they know when that is done?
Based on your logic you want to say that because the R’s support Israel, they support the massive child casualties? They support killing innocent women & children? This weekend there was a large protest IN Israel against Netanyahu’s gov’t and the way he is going about this war. Last month ten thousand plus protesting. Are the tens of thousands Israelis who are unhappy with Bibi also HAMAS supporters? Your logic doesn’t make any sense.
There are extremists who do support HAMAS as we saw this weekend, but everywhere they are decried by elected officials. I also see people on the right saying that they should just bomb everyone in Palestine and get rid of them. But apparently unlike you, I can filter the normals from crazies.
