Mueller Digs into Something Else

Is this the new normal? Every president will have a special counsel rummaging through whatever he wants for his or her entire term without regard to costs, due process, etc.? If there is probable cause of a crime, then investigate it through normal channels.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s team for the last several weeks has had a growing interest to better understand the relationship between the campaign, the Republican National Committee, and Cambridge Analytica, sources tell ABC News.

The company is also under investigation by British officials for its use of Facebook users’ data.

Sources tell ABC News several digital experts who worked in support of Trump’s bid in 2016 have met with Mueller’s team for closed-door interviews. The staffers, most of whom were employed by the RNC, served as key members of the 2016 operation working closely with the campaign and the data firm, the sources said. The company worked closely with the Republican candidate’s political team.

    Define “normal channels.”

If one is given the job to investigate something specific, say collision between the DNC or RNC and Russia, then impartially investigate but stay on the reservation.  Where Mueller is going next has already been laid out in the media, the Trump campaign, data mining and Cambridge Analytica.  The outcome will be a few nebulous process crime prosecutions like Flynn.

Ignored will be the fact that our beloved former President Obama’s campaign used the same data mining techniques.  Ignored will the the fact that Facebook, after Obama’s re-election, changed the restrictions on data mining not allowing any user to mine the level of data Obama did.  Buried will be the tweets from Carol Davidson, claiming Facebook let them (Obama) get away with rule violations because they (Facebook) wanted them to win.

Flynn, BTW, financially could not stand up to Mueller and the US Government bankroll behind him so he plead guilty.

billphoto. You conveniently left out how the data came to be in possession. There is nothing wrong with the data mining techniques used, but the former administrations (Romney & Obama) gathered their data by use of their OWN app with user’s permissions.

(allegedly) Cambridge Analytica got their data from a researcher breaking the terms of service. The data was supposed to be used for academic research only purposes and NOT for commercial.

Not buried is the response saying that FB treated the Obama and Romney teams the same without favor to either of them.

Ultimately the issue here isn’t too much with the Trump administration unless it can be proven they received the data/work at below standard costs which would be a campaign contribution. All this confirms are things we already know, Trump surrounds himself with people and companies of low scruples. But you can probably say that about most politicians.

Facebook was surprised we were able to suck out the whole social graph, but they didn’t stop us once they realized that was what we were doing.

They came to office in the days following election recruiting & were very candid that they allowed us to do things they wouldn’t have allowed someone else to do because they were on our side.

    Yep, Trump’s fault.

Pretty much it’s “anything it takes” to get Trump out of office.  Same objective, different method, played in the Senate by McConnell.
