Statements like this in a news story annoy the crap out of me:
While voting by mail is controversial, political scientists say there’s no correlation between levels of absentee or mail voting and partisan advantage.
Without regard to one’s opinion on the issue, why not cite the source? “Political scientists say?” Who? Which political scientists? Is that the majority opinion of political scientists?
It the same laziness as when they say “experts say” or “insiders say.” WHO? Name the person who said it.
Whenever I see something like that, I assume that either the reporter made it up because it is what the reporter thinks, or they just lazily aped whatever some source with an agenda said to them. Either way, it’s bad reporting.
Sounds like CNN fake news.
I’ve been absolutely floored at the reporting on how “x number of Wisconsin residents have tested positive for Covid due to voting in our Primary a month ago.” X by the way is always less than 50 and they even link to other reports that say things like “x number of positive cases state they did vote in person and that they also went to Walmart and Piggly Wiggly so they could have contracted it anywhere”. Totally stupid liberal bullshit everywhere.
