Civilization is Fragile

Indeed. From Dennis Prager:

Nevertheless, it is valid to ask it about Jews because, if any group should be wary of dismantling a society, especially a decent one, it is the Jews. The moment civilization begins to disintegrate, the Jews are the first victims–never the only, but always the first.

That’s why Jews have so often been likened to the proverbial canary in the mine. Miners take canaries down with them because when there are noxious fumes, canaries die, and when the miners see the dead canaries, they know there are toxic fumes they must fight, or they, too, will die.

That’s why decent non-Jews who don’t fight anti-Semitism are fools. They don’t understand that anti-Semitism represents a mortal threat to them. Tens of millions of non-Jews were killed because decent non-Jews ignored Hitler early on, dismissing him and Nazism as a Jewish problem.

It is often asked how the most culturally advanced country in Europe, perhaps in the world, could produce Nazism and the Holocaust. Or, as it is often put, “How did the country that gave us Bach, Beethoven, Heine, and Schiller give us Auschwitz?”

One answer is that advanced culture and advanced morality are not the same. The Nazis loved classical music.

The other, more important, answer is that civilization is fragile.

We should be getting rid of our Buchenwald killing camps in this nation, we mostly call them “planned parenthold”.

Leftist socialist ideology has always been the home for Nazis.

  2. Mar

It always amazes that Jewish people would vote for Democrats since the Democrats hate Israel so much.

  3. Kevin Scheunemann

Another good point about leftist ideology.

  4. MHMaley

I never understood Evangelicals support of any
and all actions Israel takes .

Those are the very folks who turned Jesus over to
the Romans ( as the fairy tale goes ) .

Those who understand the Old Testament would
    understand perfectly why the Republicans
pandering to to the Jews doesn’t work especially in
    an administration whose followers applaud
    cruelty towards others .
That’s discussed repeatedly by both that book and
the one that came after by countless authors
a hundredyears after the blue eyed carpenter did ( or didn’t )
    walk the earth .

Note – do you know the Gospels weren’t written by
Matthew , Mark , Luke or John .

The current PM is a crook headed for trial and we
send Wet behind the ears Jewish frat boy
to negotiate with the Palestinians and can’t understand
why he can’t get a deal done .

There’s a reason the Jews never invented heaven out
    of whole cloth .

Note – getting an agreement with countries who
never fought each other could be done by Zoom .

As long as women want to decide about what they
do with their bodies in the US , they’ll respectfully
tell Males who think they know better to STFU
and focus on their own sexual frustrations .

  5. Mar

“Note – getting an agreement with countries who
never fought each other could be done by Zoom . C”
Ok, then, why didn’t it happen earlier?

  6. Kevin Scheunemann

    Mark,

    Are you OK?

That is a lot of anti-Christian bigotry to throw against the wall all at once.

    Pace yourself.

  7. MHMaley

Nah, just stating the facts .

I’m not anti Christian , I’m just pro evidence .

  8. Kevin Scheunemann

    Mark,

Oh please, when you use the term “wet behind the ears Jewish fray boy” you have crossed over to vile, hateful, commentary.

    It was disgusting.

The only thing factual in your whole screed was your anti-Christian bigotry.

  9. Mar

I understand MHMaley being anti-Christian and Jewish.
You actually have to have faith to believe in religion. It is much easier to be anti-Christian and Jewish or other religions than it is to have faith.
Being anti-religious is very easy to do and takes the lazy way out.

  10. Tuerqas

I don’t know Mar, being Christian can be the even lazier way out.  The quickest ways to mob rule, rioting, war, etc. are poverty or religion.  It takes work to be a good person, Christian or other.

  11. Kevin Scheunemann

    Tuerqas said:

“The quickest ways to mob rule, rioting, war, etc. are poverty or FALSE religion.”

    Fixed that for you.

  12. Le Roi du Nord

Who gets to determine which religion is false?

  13. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

    Jesus.

  14. Le Roi du Nord

What if an individual is a muslim, a hindu, or a druid?  Are you saying they are wrong in their beliefs?

  15. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

    Yes.

  16. Le Roi du Nord

So freedom of religion only applies to yours and not anyone else.  Awful.  And un-American .

  17. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

You have freedom to believe in a false religion.

I only encourage you to the Gospel truth.

  18. Le Roi du Nord

How generous of you.  Now how do you prove that your religion is the true one, and not some other one?  Proof please.  Facts would be a bonus.

  19. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Well, the telltale sign of a false religion is some form of work righteousness, not unmerited grace.

Only Christianity teaches salvation by Christ’s unmerited grace alone.

    It’s simple.

  20. dad29

You have freedom to believe in a false religion.

Or no religion at all.  That’s “American”!!

salvation by Christ’s unmerited grace alone.

True, but there’s a bit more:

Paul speaks about Christians fulfilling the law by following the command to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Gal. 5:14). He then explains that we must show the “fruit of the Spirit” (Gal 5:16–26) and bear one another’s burdens (Gal. 6:1ff) as a way of fulfilling the “law of Christ” (Gal. 6:2). All Paul’s teaching comes down to this: Our own works can never justify us, but works that grow out of faith in Christ are part of our justification. That’s why Paul says in Philippians 2:12 you must “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” And that squares with James’s teaching that works that grow from faith justify.

Subtle…….so there are at least a couple commenters here who will not get it.

  21. jjf

Oh yeah, Kevin’s quite subtle.  But where’s the “buy more ammo!” in the NT?

  22. Kevin Scheunemann

    Dad,

Correct. I was trying to address justification first. Sanctification might be too much for Nord to handle at once.

  23. Kevin Scheunemann

    Jjf,

What are you talking about, again?

  24. jjf

Your subtle works.  You’ve got that whole NT down pat, in the way you behave here.

  25. Le Roi du Nord

An amazing display of hubris, k.  The telltale there is that you assume you are always right, and everyone that disagrees with you is always wrong.  Not a very big tent that you self-righteous “christians” have.

  26. Kevin Scheunemann

….Says the guy who claims to have all answers on origin of universe abd then is “not sure” when asked a simple question.

I can claim objective truth, you cannot.

  27. Mar

I wonder what the over/under will be before jjf actually contributes to a conversation.
    I think 60 is a good number.
1 in 60 of jjf’s post might make sense and be relevant.
Though, I might be wrong. Maybe 74 out 75 of his posts are troll worthy.

  28. jjf

Mar, you don’t see the hypocrisy in what I pointed out?  You have a different idea about the message of the New Testament than I do?

  29. Kevin Scheunemann

    Jjf,

    What hypocrisy?

Clearly I do not understand your smatterings…who said it, and what it has to do with NT.

  30. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

So your constant diversion to try and destroy someone who embraces literal Creation in Genesis would not be godless “self-righteousness” on your part?

Especially someone “not sure” how the universe came to be under your godless viewpoint without proof? (Faith in godless things).

Even the demons acknowledge God exists, where does that leave you in terms of how “smart” you are?

  31. jjf

Yes, Kevin, I think constantly calling people “awful” doesn’t quite square with the New Testament.  Nor does Dad29’s “Buy More AMMO!!”

  32. Kevin Scheunemann

    jjf,

Openly indicating a policy stand is “awful” because it is open evil is proper Christian discernment.     Have you read any of the New testament?   I missed the part where Jesus says to ignore open evil, ignore it, or embrace it.

Let’s take abortion as an example.   Liberals love baby murder. that is vile, disgusting evil.   Jesus is against murder of the innocent, especially children.  are you saying Christians should stand by and not call that “awful”?     If your answer is “yes”, you have NOT read the New testament at all.

  33. jjf

That would be the parable of the mote and the beam, right?

  34. Jason

    >Yes, Kevin, I think constantly calling people “awful” doesn’t quite square with the New Testament.  Nor does Dad29’s “Buy More AMMO!!”

And you mocking them for your perceived lack of squaring with the NT based on their words here – where does that hurt you on the doll?  Virtue Signalling on something you do not believe in indelibly a double standard.   PASS!

  35. Mar

jjf shows what a bigot he is. Quite a resume.

  36. Kevin Scheunemann

    jjf,

Chapter and verse on that one?

  37. Jason

    >Quite a resume

It’s really not very impressive :)
