Excellent. I’d rather they scrap the whole thing, but if there is going to be a relief bill, this would make it much better.
“I’m asking Congress to amend this bill and increase the ridiculously low $600 to $2000 or $4000 per couple,” Trump said in a video released on Twitter. “I’m also asking Congress to immediately get rid of the wasteful and unnecessary items in this legislation or to send me a suitable bill.”
Scrap the pork. Give individuals CASH. Forgive me, as I haven’t looked, but is this 2000 for EVERY person? Or will there be some stipulations? A family like mine who hasn’t suffered due to this pandemic, by all rights has no business receiving one of these checks.
But, I am not going to turn down cash that can go to pay down my mortgage or car payment I am about to have due to a recent engine failure.
There are income limits and if you don’t file taxs, that might be a problem as well.
johnnyv, they estimate around 160 million American’s received money from the first payout. That missed college age kids which I believe would be included in this one, so the number might be a little higher.
I gave my first round $1200 to church.
Even though I know it went to good use, spreading the Gospel, I felt diminished and demeaned as an individual receiving it…like I was some sort of slave on a liberal government plantation getting thrown a crumb by the insidious, power hungry, liberal masters. I stand with Rand Paul on this.
I know the libs here will say: “send it back”. However, I cannot do that in good Christian stewardship and conscience knowing how wasteful the federal government is with resources, largely driven by the godless, woke, agenda.
Whatever this next round is: my portion will be going straight to church as a special gift over and above any previous cheerful commitment to my church.
Kevin, I did not look it that way.
I looked at it like a tax refund check.
For me, I used it mostly at small businesses, mostly restaurants, as I travel and work.
I am currently in Los Angeles and almost always go to mom and pop restaurants to eat. They are dying here because of a tyrannical mayor and governor.
