Trump-supporting MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell has become the latest to be banned from Twitter.
Lindell, who fervently supported the Stop the Steal campaign over apparent election fraud, was banned by the social media giant for ‘spreading misinformation’.
His account is now ‘permanently suspended’.
One wonders about the long term business sense of moves like this. The value proposition of a platform like Twitter from the public view is that it is a place to read and share views from all different perspectives about any number of things. One of those things is politics. From a business standpoint, people give Twitter money to get access to that user base and to get data about that user base. As Twitter limits the user base to just those of a particular political persuasion, the value of that user base decreases.
Take it out of the realm of politics. People use Twitter to comment about sports. What if Twitter decided that hockey sucks and people who express support for hockey are suspended because it is “misleading” and “false” to say that hockey is a superior sport than football. By making that editorial decision and curating the user base in such a fashion, Twitter is limiting the number of businesses that will pay them money for user data. The companies that sell hockey equipment or rent ice rinks will look elsewhere to reach their potential customers.
Not that I care if Twitter thrives or not, but it just seems like a stupid business decision. I’d be wary of their future if I were a significant shareholder.
To me, it looks like most of the established social medial really do not care about money and shareholders, especially bc Twitter and it’s drug addict CEO.
Now, it’s about politics. If you’re a l in veral, you are welcome to join but if you are a conservative, you better toe the line.

For instance, conservatives care that Fauci lied a lot over the last year. He admits he has lied quite a bit over the last year. You and twitter, as liberal representatives, do not care that he lied a lot. Neither you nor Twitter would consider banning him from twitter for lying. Other examples include the widespread lies about how the trump administration had no plan for Covid with no regard for the facts that operation warp speed produced a vaccine (multiple in fact) for Covid 14 months faster than the vaccine for the Swine flu under Obama. Liberals might even try to deny those facts, dismissing Fauci’s admissions of lies, and trying to call the two flu virus variations an apples and oranges comparison.
There is no debate anymore, there is only presentation of different sets of MSM facts and exchanges of people calling each other liars.
Under that backdrop, it is no wonder at all that if Twitter decides to accept only ideologically biased facts it could call all people who listened to other sets of facts liars, and also no wonder that you could make such a conclusion and actually believe it. It is still, however, a poor conclusion. And it shows a distinct narrow-mindedness to believe that all of the liberal facts are the true ones.

No JV, a good article would not be misleadingly labeled. Good reporting would not headline a false source that it then gives a one-line contradiction on in the same article. Good reporting would not print a lie from a source as anything but a lie. So if I said Joe Biden had 30 men killed in Biloxi back in 1988, a news source could headline that, but then tell us in the fine print that it has no basis in fact, just that a source said it? No, good reporting USED to vet its sources.
