Government Takes $5,700; Gives $1,400 Back; and Expects Gratitude

The government taking your money – and your grandkids’ money – to give a little of it back to you is not a favor. If you think it is, then you need to revisit math class. But the little bribes will work to buy goodwill.

The payments are included in a sweeping $1.9 trillion Covid relief package that was approved by the Senate on Saturday and could be signed by President Joe Biden soon after the House takes a final vote, now expected to be on Wednesday.
Roughly 90% of American households will be eligible, according to an estimate from the Penn Wharton Budget Model.

As someone who who qualifies for the stimulus check, I would rather do without if prisoners in the the state and federal pen also get the check.
    It’s just not right.

Liberals think this is good math.

    Awful. Just awful.

I do wonder who decided a combined $150,000 household income over the time of the Covid job hits was a good cut off number. I would probably have put it somewhere in the neighborhood of a 60k to 75k household income, if I was going to give one at all. I guess that would not have generated enough Democrat votes, though.
