House Investigates Chronic Fraud in Walz’s Administration

The fraud was massive and undeniable. The question is what did Walz know and when did he know it?

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was subpoenaed by the House Education Committee on Wednesday as part of the GOP lawmakers’ latest investigation into the Democratic presidential ticket, probing into an issue that has long been Walz’s kryptonite: child nutrition programs.

[…]

A Minnesota-based nonprofit, Feeding Our Future, is accused of misusing $250 million of taxpayer dollars from a COVID-19 relief fund intended to feed children in need.

Walz has not shied away from addressing the largest pandemic relief fraud in the nation, which happened right under his nose.

At a press conference in August, before being picked by Harris, Walz addressed his administration’s lack of fraud prevention and a scathing legislative audit that called the MDE’s oversight “inadequate.”

“I think what you’re seeing is if you commit fraud in Minnesota, you are going to be caught as you are going to go to prison,” Walz said. He pointed to administrative changes and safeguards to prevent future fraud, such as implementing an inspector general for the MDE.

The federal government charged over 70 defendants, five of whom have been convicted of fraud, while the rest await trial.

Feeding our Future benefited from the child nutrition program designed to aid hungry children during the pandemic, as schools and care facilities were shut down. Prosecutors allege Feeding our Future submitted fake names of children to the Department of Education to receive funds.

Walz and the other officials subpoenaed have until Sept. 18 to release the documents requested.

This is potentially a very big issue for team Kamamamala.

    >Ramsey County District Judge John Guthmann responded by taking the rare step of issuing a statement to the press to correct the “inaccurate statements by the Governor.”

    >“The Department of Education voluntarily resumed payments and informed the court that FOF resolved the ‘serious deficiencies’ that prompted it to suspend payments temporarily,” Guthmann said. “All of the MN Department of Education food reimbursement payments to FOF were made voluntarily, without any court order.”

This House committee is a bunch of posers.

The $250 million gifted to the Somalians was in the news for at least the last year.

So the House “Goo Goo” guys wait until Tampon Tim runs for VP?

Here’s another mystery: why did NO ONE in the House or Senate mention Biden’s flagrant corrupt dealings with any foreign government that would send him–or his children, or brother—a check> Do you mean to tell us that NO ONE KNEW about it? Not at all? Not even a soupcon?

Paul Ryan has a lot to explain besides his craven leap for the Big Bucks after he abandoned Janesville, the hick town he couldn’t stand. So does McConnell–and for that matter, where was RoJo?

The question is what did Walz know and when did he know it?

We might never know for sure. He’s been way too busy working on his doctorate in education since 2001.

    But here are some clues…

In an interview with the Reformer on Thursday, Walz said he was verbally briefed about suspicious activity in the program in late April or early May of 2020 — “very early in the program,” Walz said.

A spokesperson for the governor later told the Reformer that Walz misspoke and he found out when MDE alerted federal authorities. MDE first reached out to officials at the U.S. Department of Agriculture with concerns about the nonprofit’s rapid growth in the summer of 2020.

“The governor was aware of issues and concerns related to the program in 2020, when MDE raised those concerns with the federal government and (Feeding Our Future) sued MDE,” the governor’s office said in a statement Thursday afternoon.

The spokesperson then followed up again to clarify that Walz found out after Feeding Our Future filed a lawsuit in November 2020. – Minnesota Reformer, Sept 30, 2022
