Kamala Harris has been rocked by a plagiarism scandal as potentially damning allegations surfaced about testimony she delivered when she was a U.S. senator.
Harris is accused of lifting text ‘verbatim’ from a former colleague for use in written congressional testimony she gave in 2007, in an analysis by the Washington Free Beacon.
The latest allegations about Harris come hot on the heels of another scandal – over whether she actually worked at McDonald’s in college, as she has claimed.

The latest plagiarism allegations arise from testimony Harris gave as a senator in support of the John R. Justice Prosecutors and Defenders Incentive Act of 2007.

But her written statement in support of the bill, sent to the House Judiciary Committee, was not about her own experience.
Instead, it reflected nearly verbatim text sent by District Attorney Paul Logli of Winnebago County, Illinois, a Republican, in support of the bill.
Of the 1,500 words in the testimony, 80 percent were exactly the same as Logli’s submission, according to the Free Beacon analysis.
