How much has this whole illegal fiasco cost us?
The prosecutors in the halted John Doe probe into Gov. Scott Walker’s campaign want to take their case to the U.S. Supreme Court with help from the same law firm that successfully argued a case involving similar issues.
The motion for the first time spells out that district attorneys John Chisholm of Milwaukee County, Ismael Ozanne of Dane County and Larry Nelson of Iowa County plan to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to review the state court’s July decision ending the probe.
They’re just doing their job.
John,
Violating 1st Amendment, defy judicial orders, and defying order of State Supreme Court is their job?
What job would that be?
….typical liberal thug?
You think all prosecutors are partisan? Or just those who are chasing Republicans?
John,
What else would explain this prosecutior violating court orders and attempting to make the 1st amendment illegal?
Only liberals push to ban the 1st amendment!
I think you need to study the history of Wisconsin’s campaign finance laws. Who created them, and why? Who supported them?
I think it would be a fine idea to revisit the civil debate over the intent, value, and constitutionality of Wisconsin’s law. It would’ve been a fine idea for the WisGOP to lead that debate before they decided to violate the law. The John Doe probes enforced the laws that were on the books, and they properly navigated the justice system to do it.
Suppose me and my friends didn’t like a law. Suppose we decided to break it and flaunt it, knowing the sheriff and the judge were buddies of mine. Is that a better method of testing the law than having a civil debate to change it?
John,
I am well versed in campaign finance law for 25 years. Even was on a first name basis with Kevin Kennedy back in early 90s.
None of what was being pursued in John Doe is against Wisconsin Campaign Finance Laws. If it was, every union leader would be in jail.
Doesn’t John chislom have bettter things to do…like putting away the incredible amount of car thiefs, murderers, and rapists, in Milwaukee?
Car thieves are treated better in Milwaukee than free speech!
That alone, makes Milwaukee a bad place to live.
