Police Give Few Details about Casino Killings

It seems odd that the crime was over 24 hours ago and they won’t release any more details than this.

Brown County sheriff’s officials provided more details at a midnight Sunday news conference but didn’t name the suspect or fully explain his relationship with the victims.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office said two victims were killed and another seriously injured and rushed to a Milwaukee hospital for emergency surgery.

Man Sentenced for Setting Fire to Police Station

This seems like an appropriate sentence.

A man has been ordered to pay $12m (£8.6m) for his role setting a Minneapolis police station on fire during rioting last May.

The fine for Dylan Shakespeare Robinson, 23, who pleaded guilty to an arson charge in December, will follow a four year prison sentence.

[…]

According to prosecutors, Robinson lit a Molotov cocktail which another person then threw at the Minneapolis Third Precinct headquarters – setting the building ablaze.

Surveillance video at the precinct shows Robinson lighting an “incendiary device” held by another person and later setting a fire inside the station near a first floor stairwell, officials said.

The Armenian Genocide

Good for Biden. This has been too long in coming. Now call out the genocide being perpetrated on the Uighurs.

President Joe Biden on Saturday issued the document Armenian Americans have pursued for decades: a declaration that the Ottoman Empire’s slaughter of an estimated 1.5 million Armenian civilians was genocide.

It’s a deceptively simple action, carrying no force of law. Yet it’s a bold move for Biden, who has gone beyond what any American president has ever been willing to do. Until now, presidents have declined to formally apply the term “genocide” for fear of sparking a backlash from Turkey, which vigorously denies it. According to the Turkish account, World War I-era violence between Muslim Ottomans and Christian Armenians led to large casualties on both sides. According to most historians, however, the evidence is clear the Turks engaged in a years-long ethnic cleansing campaign that included forced death marches and mass starvation.

Police Officer Stops Knife Attack

Why let the facts get in the way of a good narrative?

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said the fatal cop shooting of 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant shows police violence ‘disproportionately impacts black and Latino people’ during Wednesday’s press briefing.

She suggested the shooting was an example of racial bias after Columbus police released bodycam footage showing the teen lunging at another girl with a knife.

On Wednesday Columbus police released more graphic footage showing Bryant lunging at another girl with a knife.

Waters Fans Flames

Who is inciting insurrection?

California Representative Maxine Waters joined protesters in Minnesota  as demonstrations entered a seventh night on Saturday after the death of Daunte Wright.

Waters told the protesters at Brooklyn Center that she will fight for justice on their behalf and urged them to ‘to get more confrontational’ – just one day after protests descended into violence.

‘I am not happy that we have talked about police reform for so long,’ Waters said. ‘We’re looking for a guilty verdict,’ she added in regards to the Derek Chauvin trial. ‘If we don’t, we cannot go away.’

‘We gotta stay on the street,’ Waters was recorded saying, adding that protesters needed ‘to get more confrontational’ and they should ignore the curfew in place.

More Riots

I see that riot season has begun in earnest. The facts don’t matter. If it wasn’t Wright in Brooklyn Center, it would have been something else. This is an organized movement that is just seizing any opportunity to destabilize our nation.

The third night of Daunte Wright protests turned violent as demonstrators clashed with police in Minneapolis while Portland’s police union building was set on fire during the riot.

At least 60 people were arrested at protests in Portland, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia and Chicago overnight on Tuesday.

Curfews had been in place for Brooklyn Center, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Crystal, Columbia Heights, New Hope and Maple Grove from 10pm local time, but had done little to stem the demonstrators.

You will see, for example, a lot of signs and slogans sponsored by the Party for Socialism and Liberation. Their stated goal is the violent overthrow of capitalism. They state:

The idea that the capitalists’ grip on society and their increasingly repressive state can be abolished through any means other than a revolutionary overturn is an illusion.

This is just one of a dozen or more organizations that you see at these riots that are bent on overthrowing our society. This is the same tactic used by communists and insurgents all over the world for hundreds of years – and they are using it effectively.

The Gun “Epidemic”

Words matter.

“This is an epidemic, for God’s sake, and it has to stop,” Biden said in a Rose Garden speech.

Sit back and think of all of the government overreach we have experienced in the last year under the auspices that we had to do it to fight an “epidemic.” The government shut down businesses; forced people to stay home; forced people to wear masks; suspended civil rights to assemble, petition government, due process, speedy trials, etc.; changed election laws; funneled trillions of dollars to special interests and corporations; restricted interstate travel; nd on and on and on. The government did all of that to fight an epidemic.

So by calling violence committed with guns an “epidemic,” does that give Biden, Evers, and others the same cover to do the same thing to fight it? Could the government suspend carry laws, force gun registrations, and more to fight it? If not, why not? Do you think they won’t try?

There is a reason that Biden’s handlers put that word in his mouth.

Enemy At the Gates

And Biden left the gate open.

At least two Yemeni nationals who were placed on the FBI’s terror watchlist have been arrested in California after crossing illegally from Mexico into the United States.

The two unnamed men – one 33, the other 26 – were detained over the last three months in the Calexico area of California.

The captures were made by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents assigned to the El Centro Station.

DNR Officials Dine on Illegal Caviar

Stunning breach of the public’s trust, arrogance, and lack of ethics. And this from the DNR, which is legendary for holding citizens to task for the smallest of infractions.

Prosecutors have charged Ryan Koenigs, a top sturgeon expert at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), with obstructing an investigation after he alleged that his workers were using valuable fish eggs for a scientific study, when instead some of those eggs were being taken to caviar processors.

The DNR confirmed to Fox News on Monday that Koenigs was placed on administrative leave on Feb. 11 following an internal investigation, but would not comment futher.

Hunters and fishermen who take part in the annual “sturgeon spearing season” near Oshkosh can keep the fish and their eggs, provided that they don’t intend to sell them, according to a report from the Associated Press. But workers with the DNR — workers that Koenigs was overseeing — would sometimes ask they could collect the eggs from the fishermen as part of a fertility study.

Investigators with the DNR, together with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, eventually became aware that some of these fish eggs were being placed into coolers marked for caviar processing.

Koenigs initially denied any wrongdoing, and even denied ever speaking with the caviar processor, despite phone records that indicated he had. He later claimed that sometimes his workers will transport the eggs to the caviar processor at the request of the fishermen, and that sometimes the processor will provide the workers with caviar as a gift.

Another supervisor told investigators that the processors had provided caviar for the department “for years,” according to the AP. The department ate that caviar at meetings, he added.

Earlier this month, Koenigs finally admitted his employees took sturgeon eggs to caviar processors only after they were done using them for fertility research.

COVID-19 Ends Child Abuse

Yet another consequence of our lockdowns and pandemic responses. We have rended the social fabric in the name of “safety.”

An Associated Press analysis of state data reveals that the coronavirus pandemic has ripped away several systemic safety nets for millions of Americans — many of them children like Ava. It found that child abuse reports, investigations, substantiated allegations and interventions have dropped at a staggering rate, increasing risks for the most vulnerable of families in the U.S.

In the AP’s analysis, it found more than 400,000 fewer child welfare concerns reported during the pandemic and 200,000 fewer child abuse and neglect investigations and assessments compared with the same time period of 2019. That represents a national total decrease of 18% in both total reports and investigations.

Police in Miami Beach Break Up Spring Breakers

There is an enormous pent up demand for freedom.

Spring breakers invading Miami Beach have become so uncontrollable that authorities imposed a curfew on Saturday and declared a state of emergency as SWAT teams were seen moving in to clear people out.

A SWAT vehicle was filmed moving down Ocean Drive – a popular party street – and using an LRAD, also known as a sound cannon, to get people to disperse, video posted to Twitter shows.

The move to control the crowds followed weeks of wild partying in Miami Beach, which is no stranger to uncontrollable spring break throngs of young people.

[…]

The crowds of young people crushing the beach city have sparked worries of a coronavirus ‘super-spreader’ event, while alcohol-fueled partiers have been starting fights in restaurants and in the streets, officials said.

[…]

Franco said in a live video that the crowd breaking appears to be a multi-agency effort, with helicopters from Miami-Dade police, a SWAT vehicle from Coral Gables and officers from other agencies.

In another video posted Twitter, a man wearing Joker makeup waves an American flag while standing on top of a car screaming ‘COVID is over baby’ and throwing money into the air.

Later in the night, Ocean Drive was seen nearly empty after cops made everyone disperse and photos posted by Miami Beach police show street sweepers cleaning leftover debris.

Milwaukee Judge Charged with Child Porn

No words

Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Brett Blomme, who was assigned to Children’s Court, was criminally charged March 17 with seven counts of child pornography in a graphic and disturbing complaint that alleges he downloaded videos of adult men having anal and oral sex with Asian and Caucasian toddlers and other male children, including a crying boy in a Mickey Mouse shirt.

He used the name “dommasterbb” to access the child porn, the complaint alleges. Two of the IP addresses used to download and share the porn were registered to the Milwaukee County government building, the complaint says.

Be forewarned that the details in the complaint are extremely graphic and disturbing. You can read it in full here: 2021CF000647 COMP Brett B.

Blomme, a well-known Democratic LGBTQ activist who was elected to the Milwaukee County bench in spring 2020 after endorsements from prominent Democrats and funding from the state Democratic County, was charged in Dane County. That’s because he maintains a residence there in Cottage Grove (the issue of where he actually lived was a controversy during the election, in which he defeated a Scott Walker appointee.) Before he was elected judge, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett pitched Blomme for a judicial appointment he didn’t get and named him chairman of a major city zoning board.

Crime Syndicates Cash In On COVID Relief

This is what happens when we spew money out of Washington with little thought and no monitoring. I expect that in a couple of years, several governors and former governors will be under investigation for dolling out relief to their friends.

The fraud is fleecing taxpayers, delaying legitimate payments and turning thousands of Americans into unwitting identity theft victims. Many states have failed to adequately safeguard their systems, and a review by The Associated Press finds that some will not even publicly acknowledge the extent of the problem.

The massive sham springs from prior identity theft from banks, credit rating agencies, health care systems and retailers. Fraud perpetrators, sometimes in China, Nigeria or Russia, buy stolen personal identifying information on the dark web and use it to flood state unemployment systems with bogus claims.

The U.S. Justice Department is investigating unemployment fraud by “transnational criminal organizations, sophisticated domestic actors, and individuals across the United States,” said Joshua Stueve, a spokesman for the department’s criminal division.

The Labor Department inspector general’s office estimates that more than $63 billion has been paid out improperly through fraud or errors — roughly 10% of the total amount paid under coronavirus pandemic-related unemployment programs since March.

Evers Continues Spending Spree After Reneging on Promise to Close Juvenile Prison

Remember when Evers ran on closing Lincoln Hills immediately? That was three years ago and now he wants to build a new facility at $1.4 million per inmate to do it. The ACLU was outraged at a Supermax prison costing $122,000 per bed to construct. How are we spending $1.4 million per bed for a medium security facility? It is almost like he is holding kids hostage as he pays off political supporters in Milwaukee and Madison with our money. Almost…

The spending plan also revives a stalled plan to close the Lincoln Hills School for Boys and Copper Lake School for Girls, a youth prison north of Wausau that lawmakers voted in 2018 to close after years of assaults on staff and teen inmates.

Evers wants to spend $45 million on a new juvenile facility in Milwaukee County for 32 teen offenders and another $70 million on a juvenile treatment center at Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison.

Snowy Flakes

Yikes

(CNN)US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) seized a shipment of cereal from South America that was covered in cocaine instead of sugar.

CBP officers in Cincinnati, Ohio, intercepted the package on February 13 containing about 44 pounds of cocaine-coated corn flakes, according to a news release.

While working on incoming freight from Peru, a CPD narcotic detector dog named Bico flagged the cereal shipment going to a private residence in Hong Kong. Upon further inspection, officers found and tested white powder on the cereal that was positive for cocaine.
“The men and women at the Port of Cincinnati are committed to stopping the flow of dangerous drugs, and they continue to use their training, intuition, and strategic skills to prevent these kinds of illegitimate shipments from reaching the public,” Cincinnati Port Director Richard Gillespie said.

Shootout At the Range

This seems like a predictable result.

‘We had one initial shooter here at the scene who hit two victims inside the location, both of them have been identified as deceased at this location,’ said Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto during a brief press conference.

‘It appears that several individuals ended up engaging that suspect, whether inside or out here in the parking lot.’

[…]

The outlet reported that the suspect got into an argument with a clerk who told him he should not have a loaded gun until he got inside the range.

Shots were fired when two customers on the indoor range engaged the man, sources told the outlet. Sources told WESH-TV that the man was shot and fired back at the two customers.

Police sources told the outlet that people on the range engaged the shooter to try and keep others safe.

Judge Denies New Warrant for Rittenhouse

Testy

Schroeder refused both of Binger’s requests. During a testy hearing the judge said people out on bail often fail to update their addresses and aren’t arrested. He ordered Rittenhouse attorney Mark Richards to turn over Rittenhouse’s current physical address but said it would be sealed to the public and only he and the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department would have access to it.

The judge refused to give Binger the address, saying he didn’t want more violence in Kenosha. The move — and the comment — left Binger flabbergasted.

“I hope you’re not suggesting sharing this with our office would lead to further violence,” Binger said. “We are not the public. We are the prosecuting agency. I have never heard of a situation where the information has been withheld from my office.”

There’s a back story here…

Cuomo Lied. People Died.

But he wrote a book.

Andrew Cuomo‘s top aide has admitted that their administration ‘froze’ in August when asked for data detailing COVID-19 deaths among nursing home patients, and failed to provide the requested information.

In a remarkable confession made during a conference call with New York state Democrats, obtained by The New York Post, DeRosa asked for understanding from their critics.

Her mea culpa came shortly before the Associated Press published new detail into how many patients recovering from COVID were sent back into nursing homes. They found more than 9,000 readmittances –  a figure 40 per cent higher than official data.

In January, the AP reported that the death toll from COVID among nursing home patients was 15,000 – an increase almost 50 per cent higher than the official statistics.

Hacking Our Infrastructure

It’s always troubling to see how easy it is to hack our primary infrastructure.

An outdated version of Windows and a weak cybersecurity network allowed hackers to access a Florida wastewater treatment plant’s computer system and momentarily tamper with the water supply, federal investigators revealed in a memo obtained by ABC News.

The FBI’s Cyber Division on Tuesday notified law enforcement agencies and businesses to warn them about the computer vulnerabilities, which led to the Bruce T. Haddock Water Treatment Plant in Oldsmar being hacked on Feb. 5.
