I’ll be on Wisconsin Public Radio’sWeek In Review this morning at 8:00 AM to discuss the issues of the week with One Wisconsin Now’s Analiese Eicher. Below are the topics we plan to cover, but feel free to call in and throw us a curve ball.

It’s been a newsy week and I’ll be discussing those issues with Eugene Kane on Wisconsin Public Radio‘s Week in Review at 8 AM. Please tune in as host Joy Cardin referees the cage match. Needless to say, we’ll talk about Trump’s first 100 days, NAFTA, Wisconsin transportation funding, prevailing wage, Sheriff Clarke, Trump’s tax plan, and, I assume, the fact that Texas A&M’s Myles Garrett was taken first in the NFL draft. What does that really mean to the Brown’s Super Bowl chances?
I’ll be participating in Wisconsin Public Radio’s Week In Review. Joy Cardin will ring the bell as Jenni Dye and I discuss the issues of the week. Jenni Dye is the Research Director for One Wisconsin Now and sits on the Dane County Board. I’m… well… me.
On the docket this morning are a lot of national issues like AG Jeff Sessions, Trump’s speech, the new DNC Chair, etc. We’ll also likely talk about a few state issues like eliminating the State Treasurer and the DPI candidates.

On the docket is Walker’s hints at welfare reform, UW’s course about “The Problem with Whiteness,” splitting up the DNR, and the latest on the presidential transition.

It looks like it was a slow week, so if you have any suggestions for topics, feel free to send them my way.
I’ll be on Wisconsin Public Radio’s Week In Review this morning at 0800. I will be discussing the issues of the week with Kelly Wilz. Ms. Wilz is relatively new to the show and it will be my first time speaking with her. Here’s a little about her:
Kelly Wilz , Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Communication/Theatre Arts and Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County. Her research and teaching explore the intersections of education, media literacy, gender, politics, democracy, and popular culture. The focus of her primary research is on rhetorical constructions of gender, violence, and dissent within the context of U.S. war culture and American politics. Related topics of interest include how dehumanizing and demonizing rhetoric extend beyond war to broader patterns of social violence based on intersectional discourses of race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and other identity markers. Kelly’s academic publications have appeared in multiple edited collections and top-tier journals such as Rhetoric & Public Affairs and the Global Media Journal.

I’ll be discussing the issues of the week with Arvina Martin, the chairperson of the Dem Party of Wisconsin’s American Indian Caucus and Chief Communications Officer of the Ho-Chunk Nation Legislature (is using the word “chief” a micro-aggression?).
